a (dis)comforting space
a (dis)comforting space is a body of work that is based upon the juxtaposition on feeling comfort in one's environment vs feeling boxed in and suffocated by it. Through creating a series of composite images, individual pieces were made to depict how people fully experience rooms they hold close to them - activities included reading, sleeping, lounging, etc. These composites act to create a visual narrative that all at once, shows each person's full range of interactions in the space alongside their level of comfort. Complimenting these images is a projection that includes a series of images of a person enclosed in a wooden crate. Floating in emptiness, this projection depicts to contrary emotions towards being in enclosed spaces - discomfort, anxiety, and stress.
